Tips & Techniques

Build slowly

Assemble the inner frame with care, it’s the foundation for everything that follows. This moment is a big part of the Plan process too. A chance to slow down, use your hands, and make something that’s yours from the start.

Tension matters

When attaching your canvas, pull gently but firmly. You want the surface tight and even all the way around. For full steps, check our video tutorials in this e-guide.

Practice first

Use the included practice pieces before starting on your final canvas. This helps you get a feel for how your tools and paints behave.

Leave it blank

Don’t feel rushed to paint. The frame and fabric canvases are beautiful as is. Leave it leaning or hang it raw. Let it breathe before you begin.
